For the 'Woven Worlds - TANKA PROSE ' Poetry Contest of Suzette Richards

A teacher had students place flower seeds in the cracks of a sidewalk between its alternating lines along the sidewalk’s edge closest to the curb. I don’t know if the students returned to water those seeds, but something amazing happened. I saw a picture of the result and wondered if it was faux photography . . . no longer hidden along the sidewalk’s edge the seeds had blossomed into lovely flowers all in a perfect row

Andrea, something amazing can come from a little thought and a small effort when we do things together. This is a lovely story that you have shared with us and shown appreciation for. Funny that the appreciation goes out to those of us who had nothing to do with it. Really cool.

what a uplifting poem, Andrea! Growth occurs in the most unlikely of places and is ofttimes unexplainable. As poets, we see that in our growth as a writer and as a person. We're aware and see growth in others...a serendipity of being mindful and introspective. Your poem spoke to me, and I'm grateful for it today. Have a great evening, hugs, Sara

Dear Andrea, You have beautifully captured the resilience and beauty of nature and the potential for unexpected growth in unlikely places. You show us the power of nurturing and the wonders that can emerge from seemingly ordinary situations. Andrea, this is an inspiring reflection. - Blessings, Daniel

Lovely poem, Andrea. Reminds me of our country lanes, with cowslips growing in various cracks. Hugs

Potent example Andrea. Nature is amazing--isn't it a fine inspiration for humans on how to sustain.
