Tales of Wwii
Those who fought in WWII tell their tales
Of bravery and loss of friends and kin.
Though soldiers of that war were mostly males
Brave women did their part to help us win.
Father's plane shot down over Germany,
With parachute he landed in a lake.
Soon he was captured by the enemy
In concentration camp plans he would make.
Two times with friends he failed in his escape.
Third time two friends were killed, he got away.
He made his way across the rough landscape.
A farmer's daughter helped him hide away.
Through grace of God he made it through the war
To father children whom he did adore.
