Bernard Landry was a separatist, a nationalist, a racist, anti Anglophone and anti immigrant, hateful small man. He practiced ethnic cleansing by trying to rid Quebec of Anglophones

Over 400,000 Anglophones have had to leave Quebec, due to nationalists.

"it was reported in the New York Times that Landry spoke disparagingly of immigrants on the night of the 1995 referendum. The Gazette, an English-language paper in Montreal, reported that two employees at the Inter-Continental hotel in the city plan to file a complaint against Mr. Landry with the Quebec Human Rights Commission. Anita Martinez, a night clerk at the hotel, said that Mr. Landry told her, "It was because of you immigrants that the 'no' won," and added, "Why is it that we open the doors to this country so you can vote 'no' " to Quebec sovereignty"

Ironic that immigrants coming to Canada should wish to stand up for Canada, and not commit treason to the country that accepted them.

During is funeral, it was said his heart was filled with love for Quebec, maybe, maybe not, but he was never the less a man that wanted to destroy a country, and hated those not as him. His coffin bearers were Police, because he was the head of no state, and they said he loved all Quebecers, well ok I guess like Trump loves all Americans. He died without his pretend nation, as did Parizeau and as did Hitler. He insulted the Canadian flag, calling it a red rag, these are not words of a man of love.

Very sad to see current politicians paint over the facts.

 Take Out the Landry

Dirty laundry for years on the floor
finally the dirt is out the door
Quebec is cleaning house
separatists being laid to graves
like Napoleonic mouse's
bury their rhetoric too
twelve feet deep

Wrinkled ex leader with
no musket or balls
no lead, leaderless
man of poisoned dreams
nationalist and king of hate
trumpets play for his distaste
if your wool is not pure
you do not belong on his shore

Villain as Lucifer or Lucien
robbing the people of their future
all for his midget delusions
now to be inhumed
in his own dirt
he will of course blame
the Chinese laundry mat
who lost his ticket

He is not to be interred
in red rags
honor will shed not one tear
where is his Nazi flag?

Boxed at Notre Dame
the church like Vichy
honors dictators and their clan
funerals they all say nice things
still
they toss out the laundry
as Canada sings

Only Toronto thanks him
for the prosperity

Hello Art, Congratulations on POTD!! I gather from your quite informative verse that Mr. Landry was someone quite in league and deliberate nasty actions with the likes of our American Pied Piper . . . Mr. Trump!! Your verse describes him and his actions quite well. Unfortunately, there are other idiots and fools in the political spectrum in other countries that spew the same themes of hatred and utter disgust that play to the consciousness of weak-minded people. Superb Work!! Cheers and Best, Gary

Hatred is never the answer to our differences as you make clear. I'm thinking of the suffering then and now. It's really a shame to see history repeating itself here. Blaming the immigrants is a pretty grim prelude to things even worse.

Sharp ink and (!) intro. I don't remember the players, but I was in the hospital during the Reforendum, my heart in traction fearing my country was falling apart. You know I'm from O, greatly affected by the language debate, I'll soup mail you a poem unfit for soup ;) Hope you're healing up, xomo
