Take a Second Look and See What's Underneath the Scars On Me
Don't stare at me it's not nice
This is how I paid the price
For rescuing a child who
From a fire I would pull
To safety but in return
I would scar with lots of burns
All over my hands and face
You have a look of disgrace
Which is ignorant and mean
I don't mind the way I'm seen
Because it reminds me of
The act of courage and of love
That I performed late that night
Doing what I know was right
These scars will always show
Me people need to really grow
And not judge by others looks
If you were polite and took
A minute to talk with me
You would find reality
On people with different scars
On their bodies and their hearts
Some things happen that are not
Supposed to be a scary part
Of life but you need to take
Good with the bad and just make
The most of it as best you can
This world needs to understand
Not everyone will be perfect
There are some things that are worth it
Losing the way we were made
So next time don't be afraid
Seeing someone with imperfections
They might have took a direction
Helping someone they don't know
To become a scarred hero
