Table Tennis Attraction

Most balls people pitch, roll, or fling. They kick them or strike them with zing. But for lazy old me I like tirelessly. . . to stand, flick my wrist and go “ping!” For Joseph Soper's the Sports Shorts Poetry Contest

Pong! O_o-- heehee reading this brought back college memories-- haha of how I MAJORLY sucked at Table Tennis (or at any sport, lol!) Whenever I hit that ball, it was Jumping, it always arched so high, it seemed it took forever to land, it was crazy-- I even made the ball go to the Other table, for crying out loud! LOL :) this was a fun limerick! hugs to you -- nikko :)

Andrea, I used your meter for my poem and suggested someone else do the same because Deb referred to you as the meter pro in a blog. It is very hard to write humor, rhyme and syllable counts employing this type of meter. I wrote at least six poems before finally deciding on one. I'll post it tomorrow I guess and I'm sure I'll hear about it if it's not correct. Thanks, Carolyn

Andrea, nice poem,my friend.Table tennis is so competitive in my workplace.I sweat buckets when i play.We thought we played to a good level until this older gentleman appeared and could spin the ball like BILLEO! He taught us a lesson and took our game to another level. That reminds me.One of life's mysteries. Why are table tennis bats blue on one side and red on the other?

Andrea, good job on one of my favorite sports. Grabbed my attention, since I have won some tournaments in the game.

I remember those matchups between the USA and Mainland China in the early seventies that paved the way for diplomatic relations between the two countries. You describe it well here in this limerick.

Enjoyed your Limerick today, Andrea! And best of luck in the contest! You were right with your guess about Eilat. It ist a seaside resort at the Red Sea and Israel's only port there at the south of the country bordering with Egypt and Jordania. Thank you for all your kind comments and have a great week!...Love, Gert
