The pirates were all drinking rum and were drunk And failed to see the treacherous rocks up ahead There was one almighty crash and the ship sunk And they ended up in Davy Jones locker all dead. Written 17th August 2021.

Love it! I've been led to understand that, my great-grandfather was captain of a ship, that went down in a storm in the Mediterranean -- that was the way back then. Who knows? Just hope he wasn't a politician. Nicely done, Tom.

I’ve heard of scotch on the rocks, but not rum. Now they’re in deep water! My mate, Polly says, ‘Squark... pieces of eight.’ Which is her way of saying, ‘What a spiffing and concise little ode... me hearties!’ ;-) Terry
