Sweet Temptations

I see the subtle way she looks at me
with soft blue eyes that put me in a trance,
and her flirtatious smile that’s so carefree;
it beckons me to come and take a chance.

Her gentle curves beneath her red sundress
in bright sunlight show off her silhouette,
and calls to me inviting love’s caress
while tempting me with tryst I won’t regret.

Cannot this lovely temptress see my hand
which bears on finger narrow band of gold,
or is this rendezvous just as she planned
to taste forbidden fruit not hers to hold?

Are sweet temptations just as she designed,
or is temptation only in my mind?

Hi John, You expressed the feeling of "sweet" temptation very well. My thoughts are how would a person fee if the shoe was the other foot? How would one if their "mate" was the object of some elses desires? As always good job. I have missed reading you my poetic friend:-) Alexis

Hi Alexis, so good to see you my friend, I have missed you as well! Wow, your question is a hard one to answer...I think everyone has these types of temptations, male or female, so I guess it depends on how well you trust your mate. Another way to look at it might be all these other women desire him but he has chosen you. Relationships are always complicated and everyone is different. John

Are sweet temptations just as she designed, or is temptation only in my mind? The state of mind is well presented. Like it.

Temptation truly is Everywhere. You have expressed this perfectly. It is both. The flesh is weak, more so than the mind- but the mind and the flesh are as one. It has always been this way. This is so beautifully written and presented. ~ Brandy

Thank you for your thoughts and comments, Brandy, I think life might be a bit boring without a few little temptations to keep us on our toes. John

For some ladies a man with a band of gold is considered a catch. Remember fatal attraction, I prefer my bunny unboiled lol. Your muse is on fire at the moment John. Tom
