Sweet Stars In Texas

Somewhere....in....Texas ....A Teddy Bear... Stares at the stars, alone on her bed, Waiting happily for her to come to home. He recalls her ribbons, the brightest of reds, Never knowing, in God's heaven she roams! The girl's mother, tiptoes softly in. Pretending that her daughter is still there! She caresses the bear, an emotional win. The mirror reflects sadly, the room is bare. Tears on the beloved Teddy Bear start to fall, She remembers her daughter's lovely toes. Mother imagines she's coming down the hall, Oh, to just once more, kiss her sweetest nose! 5/25/2022

Sad the loss of a child, it leaves a hole not only in the family, but among friends, neighbors, all who knew and loved them. Beautifully penned expression.

I don’t think death effects poets, except you, Gershon, Tom and Elena. We carry on about death of pets. Children, what do we care? We are so WOKE, we gave up valuing loss of 19 children and 2 teachers.. Justice, Karma will get to our cold hearts.truth~ never. I felt this poem as I wrote it. Over 800 killed in Chicago, ML in one year. Not one politician cares! But the 19 are a political tool. Disgusting ... Pangie.

A very moving poem to say the least. A piece straight from your heart.

Thank you Elena. Children seem disposable as toilet paper! Stars, and animals are far more beloved? Heartbreaking to my soul. Pangie

High honors coming from you. Wish I could paint this! But, I feel every word in this, and at least could put it in words. Honestly, have no idea how a parent survives the loss of a child. Pangie

I don't know what the answer is but it seems too easy to get a gun in the US, we have strict checks in the UK but even then someone can flip and go on the rampage like in Dunblane and Hungerford. Tom

PS. Thank you for caring for children. I was a child once! Now a Mom and grandmother. You know how big it is here. Americans are not dumb! Though, this being on an international site, I know countries think otherwise. Go online and find out how many mass shootings were in the Obama years.I forgot! Zero during the Trump-years and no wars! Gas will be 8 Usd soon. Food shortages. Estimated gas hikes cost each family an estimated 3,000 extra a year. PRxx

There are many guns here, legally owned in locked boxes, owned by people who know it takes a criminal but a few minutes to wipe out your family. We have a Second Amendment here. Israel values their kids, teachers carry guns. Morons, druggies, terrorists commit heinous acts. And kids are protected. I will stand for the right of the unborn, and children, etc. Cartels bring guns over the border. These are cheap. Sold on the street in the hood. People came to these shores to be free. Some of us respect law and rights, Tom! Pangie
