Sweet Malaise
Adrenaline bull-whipped by frenetic glucose,
Dominates the freeway veins;
Straight to the head, blazing a trail,
Smashing and crashing into the brains.
And each cell sings a siren migraine,
And the heart pounds a beat,
And the vapour rises, a stupor ensuing,
Faint and confused in malaise so sweet.
Love, ah love, as love might be,
Preying upon the crippling knees,
Infected and burning and feverish,
Love, ah love, a sweet disease.
No antibodies to counteract the spread,
Of hysteria and graveyard crying;
If this is love as love might be
Why does it feel so like dying?
