Sweet Are Soft Shadows

Sweet are soft shadows, preservers of life... Removed at midday, summer's sun blazes down ~ Bakes the hard ground ~ Bludgeons tender sprouts ~ Burns our bare skin ~ Blisters parched lips ~ Blinds the innocent's gaze ~ Betrays life's precarious balance Returned toward eventide, the essence of soft shadows ~ Renews the ground ~ Raises up the sprout ~ Relaxes the skin ~ Refreshes the lips ~ Revises the gaze ~ Restores life's balance... Sweet are soft shadows, preservers of life.

I remember when I lived in Phoenix during my "Seven Years" the sun was merciless but in the evening the shadows offered comfort - this is very profound and balanced, love it-
