Super Man

Super/man It seems, like everybody needs a hero and I'm sure, you're no different than the rest You've found the world is full of countless zeros Especially when put up to the test Now, I'm not faster than a speeding bullet Or can I leap a building with a bound But, when every bodies gone and has left you I'll be the one you'll still see around Sure, I don't look good in fancy spandex with a big ol' colored emblem on my chest But when you're feeling down, no need to make a sound I will lift you up above all the rest Yes, it's true I don't have X-ray vision and my other parts are pretty common too But find it in your heart, to let me fill the part and give my Super Loving all to you

G'day Jerry... you're right; real super heroes are those closest to you in the right environment. Nicely written Jerry - Lindsay

Hey Jerry!! Superman just happens to be my favorite comic book hero. I really do like your exceptional tongue-in-cheek write here!! I'm quite surprised that no one else has commented. Oh Well -- Their Loss!! Your last stanza says it all my friend!! (I'll try to get by to check out more of your poems.) This one, by the way, is a "7" + "FAV" in my "Superman Book of Favorites"!! Cheers and Best Always, Gary
