Sunset
Sitting silently and dreaming,
while the fading day is teeming
with emotions softly streaming,
facing now the setting sun.
Saffron skies as day is ending;
into twilight, night is blending;
twinkling stars above are pending,
facing now the setting sun.
In the twilight, shadows dancing;
cricket's song is so entrancing,
melodies of sweet romancing,
facing now the setting sun.
Fireflies flicker in the shadows
disappearing, leaving halos;
in the air, the scent of tea rose,
facing now the setting sun.
Holding hands as day is finite;
fearing disappearing daylight
baring twilight’s loss of eyesight,
facing now the setting sun.
Sitting close while we remember
amber days of mid-September,
feeling chills of late November,
facing now the setting sun.
