Sunset
Remember the time we had an argument under the sun, on top of the water, missing what could have been, that day was horrible to be honest but something inside me still appreciated the anger because I was with you
I stared into her eyes like the limitless depths of sunset, right before the traditional parting words
But our goodnight is never good bye because good morning is always right behind
Sleeping next to you never sleeping on you not even when I’m mad
I don’t like going to bed mad at you
You’re my love
Dove flying for a hug
Purple, yellow, pink, inked on my soul
The sunset is like nothing I’ve ever seen but compared to you
I see true beauty
Sunset in your eyes I can’t look away, forgive me if I stare
The sunset is just a transition to another day
The future awaits and I see you waiting for me
The sunset is like a sculpture
Sometimes I like to call her my sunset, but only God could sculpt her curves
The curve in her smile matches the curve in my heart
Everything about her gives me life so no death do us part
Sipping coffee from my I don’t give a sip cup, thinking back to when it was
hard to keep looking up
But at least I could look at you, my queen could always lift my spirits doing nothing
My sunset…she gives me hope of another day even when the dusk goes away
p.s. the genesis of your hope planted in my mind flies me anywhere…
