In a Sunday sermon…
The preacher told us this –
Listen to the still small voice,
Who whispers peace and grace,
The voice of a Savior, Jesus – the divine,
Who abides in heaven, awaiting His time
To shine!
The preacher mentioned thoughts –
Reminded that what we think, each opinion,
Is a silent reflection, a direction…
From the heart… where our ideas are formed –
From our soul, where our love is born
The preacher told us to hear the words –
Our hopes and dreams, our belief, our thinking.
All those things that make up our reflections,
Our reasoning and our deliberating…
Everything that brings our life meaning –
Thoughts of good and thoughts of bad,
Dreams that could and dreams that died
Hopes and prayers, the light that reflects…
The preacher told us that we need to remember –
Our thought life – that is our heart life,
Our thoughts are our spirit’s song, our joy –
Our peace and love – everything that makes us
Who we truly are … embracing each feeling
With gentling and healing, everything that our thinking
Can possibly reveal!
The preacher assured us that our thoughts –
Can bring us wisdom, - and also doubt
Our thoughts can inspire us to believe
Our thoughts can combine to make us grieve
Our thoughts are lessons – our thoughts are peace
Our thoughts are blessings and our thoughts …
Give us wings!
The preacher told us – to remember please…
It is our thoughts that God can read – so listen
To the silence of every tender dream,
Listen to the light – erasing shadows and gloom
Listen to the music – of hope, faith and love
Listen to the spirit – of One who brings the truth…
The hope of every thought, the faith that stirs,
The promise of a love that comes from God above
The preacher mentioned – the thoughts that inspire us
And the preacher mentioned – the love that is a fire in us
When you are thinking of the good and the bad,
Listen to the joy – listen to the glad
And find your healing – your happiness…
In thinking of all the wonder God arouses,
All the joy, peace and grace – all the pleasure….
That comes from thinking of His gift – the Son
Who is the best giver there is – the only One…
Who converts our doubts, our worries, our fears….
Erases the sadness, all of the tears –
With a love that lasts throughout the years!
Philippians 4:8
King James Version
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
