Sunday - Lily's Day At Church
SUNDAY - LILY'S DAY AT CHURCH
As Lily had her freedom, it's off to church we go
Lily; dressed in light pink was putting on a show
Father Duncan; eyes lily up but, is not quite sure
Didn’t say anything; in case it may be premature
Droning on with his sermons, on all life’s wrongs
After he sang some very strange inaudible songs
Father Duncan, cast a eye over the congregation
Says, Lily would you like to give the presentation
Lily; jumped up, and was straight into that pulpit
As says, when it comes to God, I’m totally with it
God; wants us, to be ourselves, in whatever way
This your path of righteousness, and never sway
Learn to become that person; that you really are
As God each night, lights up for you a bright star
Time Lily is finished the congregation were in awe
This lass knew her stuff and truly knew the score
Father Duncan; he was, far more than impressed
Weighing Lily up, decided, it was best not to test
We both left the church laughing; what a Sunday
Father Duncan, as on his knees totally in disarray
Lily, was not what the Bible teaches us in any way
But, more understanding we will be there one day

"Father Duncan had not got quite used to the concept
of a transgender under his church roof, but, hey there
is time yet" . . . : )
