Sun shines bright in cerulean sky,
Temperature's rising fast.
Another hot day in sultry July,
Reminiscent of summers past,
I'm sure it won't be the last.
A distant thunder begins to rumble,
As white clouds turn dark gray.
Leaves and debris go rumble-tumble,
When the wind kicks into play.
Soon the rain will join in the fray.
Summer is here in all of her glory,
Displaying her temperamental side.
Sunshine and thunder all part of her story,
She rarely seems satisfied.
Summer will be a long, hot ride.
