Summer Kids

on sprouting kid legs awkward with adolescence they claim their summer landing like wild birds on circular grassy paths called by adventure late afternoons, they corral their urban horses herds of silver schwinns flashing bright, they are off, majestically young against the sunset carelessly they ride the crest turning always to the west 5/26/23

Kids, alolescence, fun, sun how beautiful, and how it reminds me of my youth. Funny how we don't keep in touch with primary school friends but we do when we go to high school , a lovely poem Michelle. Hugs and blessings.JENNIFER.

Aah, the long hot summers of childhood / youthdom. A time when people made their own entertainment and searched for themselves and were taught HOW to think - before social media told us WHAT to think Your poem drips with the warm glow of nostalgia and reminds me of playing cowboys as a child :) P.S. I actually know what a Schwinn is thanks to an episode of American Pickers that was shown here in the UK a few weeks back. :) Lovely poem Michelle. Cheers - Gary

Yes Michelle, Maureen and other PS greats had a schwinn-ing time recalling their own herds and armies of youthful talents. Shalom shalom, Paz!

Take me back to those high school days, with my long hair flying in the wind, our bike lights lit up huge tress and nights were safe. A creative write, appreciated. Hugs, Pangie
