Isaiah chapters 57-59. Sticking with God's plan.
[The Lord]
"Why do you throw up your hands at Me?
Turn around and take what I give you!"
[The Defeated]
"These people stubbornly refuse your grace.
Their brazen-faces threaten violence.
They are attracted to sin like flies to honey,
Spewing hateful foam like an angry sea!"
{The Lord]
"Who do you think is tossing them about?
There is no lasting profit for the wicked!
My agitation will create even more problems,
And they shall only reap mud and sand!
No peace, no peace, but constant upheaval!
Their false worship of Me is complete folly,
Trying to deceive Me into blessing them!
They must change their ways or be lost at sea!
Their feigned obedience speaks ever louder.
Their humility and sacrifice is drowned out.
The outside of the cup is clean and shiny,
But the perverted inside displeases Me greatly!
Speak up! Confront them constantly with My truth!
Trying to pressure Me to accept their sinfulness,
Will only increase My pressure on them to repent!
Their ways are wrong, and My ways are right!"
Ask yourselves why there's no joy in our kinship.
Stop trying to lead Me around like one of your idols!
Sacrifice your own desires and let Me lead!
My light is the only light that dispels darkness.
Give yourselves wholly to Me, and I'll set you free.
Give yourselves wholly to each other - set them free -
Free from pursuing selfish goals and oppressing others,
Free from the oppressive yoke that sin enslaves with.
Then My strength will produce your righteous behavior,
Then the breakdown of morality is truly reversed,
Then we are no longer alienated from each other,
Then you will experience My blessing and loyal love."
[The Defeated]
"The collapse of Your truth makes it dangerous for us.
Honesty collapses, justice collapses, morality dies -
It becomes unlawful to do what is right and good.
Please help us, O Lord, in such a time as this!"
[The Lord]
"My truth thrown down to the ground will always rebound.
The true people of God will always be My witnesses,
Faithfully proclaiming the truth of My gospel,
To every nation, in the power of the Holy Spirit."
