Notes About The Poem

Submerged In Shallow Streams

Shimmering silhouettes haunt.

Shadow stands still,
observing his soul drift towards
the tree of melancholy.

Its morbid image stands silent,
but screams inside the mind.

I could write a million pensive poems,
yet the pen could never express,
how emotions remain unexplained,
because suppressed silent theories
and words left unspoken mean
regretful raindrops fall to the
rhythm of each somber sigh.

Tears create shallow streams,
but still we remain submerged.

Eight years on and I wonder,
if we will stay here forever.

We resonate with the pain others feel...And this brings out the supportive side of our human nature. There is wholeness in being able to talk about our sorrows. Deeply touching, beautifully expressed thoughts... : )

That is a beautiful down to earth poem.In this life everybody goes through the ups and down, it hurts when we are down, and its beautiful when we feel loved and alive. Between a couple sharing is so important, as its the only way to feel not alone. You did a beautiful poem. Terry xoxo

Huge congratulations on this finely crafted poem receiving POTW honors my dear friend. You ask a question that Life gives often. These verses set the mind to ponder and give the heart hope in that poets gift such verses to this too oft dark and resentful world.. A fav.. great poetry..

Very emotional write, SO Although we can express our feelings through the ink of our pens, you are right when you say a pen can never express the true emotions unexplained. Excellent write as always my dear friend...Charlie

"Regretful raindrops" and words unspoken make it difficult to explain the sadness, Silent One. Your compelling poem has depth and makes the reader yearn for answers. Hugs, Carolyn
