Stupefied

I am numbed, I am stupefied.
I am unable to feel, unable to think.
I feel frozen, paralyzed, senseless.
All my senses diminished, deadened.

Desensitized, I hear without listening.
I see without looking or watching.
I smell without thinking of the scents.
I taste without perceiving the flavor.
I touch or feel without any feelings.

I hear the music without feeling
the beat, the rhythm, the cadence.
I draw without any passion, zeal.
There is no excitement in sketching,
drawing the human figure, body.
I dance without the gusto, zest,
enthusiasm, not feeling the music.

They say death comes in threes.
My niece passed on and the next
day, my brother passed away and
then my mother within three days.

I am in a total blankness.
I don’t feel the pain, the sorrow.
I cannot even cry or shed tears.
I am completely stupefied.

Thank you for my placement, comment and sympathy. Yes, my niece and brother (not the same family) died due to Covid and it was so so sad because we could not even see them in the hospital. Then, my Mama passed, not Covid related. I was really numbed, stupefied for a few weeks.
