Desensitized, I hear without listening. I see without looking or watching. I smell without thinking of the scents. I taste without perceiving the flavor. I touch or feel without any feelings. I hear the music without feeling the beat, the rhythm, the cadence. I draw without any passion, zeal. There is no excitement in sketching, drawing the human figure, body. I dance without the gusto, zest, enthusiasm, not feeling the music. They say death comes in threes. My niece passed on and the next day, my brother passed away and then my mother within three days. I am in a total blankness. I don’t feel the pain, the sorrow. I cannot even cry or shed tears.
