Notes About The Poem

''stuff'' In the City

    Oh, street litter,
        Abandoned trash clutter,
        Tarnishing the city,
    It is not pretty,
        All over piling up,
    Waiting for a pickup;
    Trash in green bags still trash,
         Piles and piles of ugly mishmash,
           Environmentally wrong,
Charity, recycled, dump, that is where it belongs.

    Oh, ugly the view,
        Under the sky azure blue,
        Don't toss on the street,
    Butts, cans and stuff meet,
        A clean street is beautiful;
    Too much trash is awful,
    Things we buy the problem,
        Makes the city look like a slum,
           Early settlers dumped also,
Over the fence, into the river that somehow still flows

Jan Allison June 10, 2015 at 10:45 AM Oh isn't it a pity to see the litter in the city. We have recycling centers and are encouraged to reduce re-use recycle our household waste but still we do throw away far too much - great write for the contest:-) good luck:-) Hugs jan xx
