Stuff The paraphernalia of life, Memories collected, Emotions rejected, Gathered over time The appurtenances of life, Possessions collected, At times rejected Accessories thought necessary The accouterments of life Beliefs collected Sometimes rejected Always evolving, always growing The appendages of life Friends collected None rejected Perhaps at times disconnected The stuff of life Constantly collected Intermittently rejected Yet cherished wholeheartedly

wow, I really like your take on this contest Stuff! Great job here. You are very perceptive, what you said about my prayer poem. My thinking has changed a lot in the past few years. maybe it's my getting old and the experiences I have had. I still believe in God but things i used to believe about him and my church, not quite able to see it the same any more. I mostly pray while driving my car, not at my bedside! (it's the one time I have free time just to be thinking with nothing to distract me)

Hi, I liked your poem, especially the last 4 lines. I cherish my stuff, too. And find it difficult to let much go. I have so many books. They are like old friends and I'd like to keep them around a while longer. Since I live along, they are my company. I don't think this poem is for the contest, is it? That "Stuff" poem contest is about environmental waste. I submitted mine, but quickly withdrew once I read the rules. Blessings, Darlene
