Strength
Crows caw an anxious call, roosters
crow up a hidden sun
Dried leaves rustle in the soft breeze
Rain eludes the music's fun
Low dark clouds speed on by, heading
to the east and north
A few rain drops drip from the roof
Maybe soon will pour forth
In the distance, sounds of a calf
Uncommon these modern days
But the sound of roosters across
the creek, normal display
Out on the porch in the damp fog
A few minutes alone
God visits in the quiet hour
He gives strength for each groan
