"And he (Jesus Christ) arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm." *Mark 4:39 of the King James Bible
Sheltered by the Saviour’s security
Settled in His assured serenity
Soul of mine enjoys stillness’ certainty
Shut against fear with grace-sobriety.
Sufficed with peace for confessed sinfulness
Set to keep still in Christ’s great forgiveness
Spirit so blest sings with praise-gratefulness
Satisfied completely by His goodness.
Steadfast along supplication fervor
Surmounting sorrows by the Lord’s succor
Sincerity of heart withstands sickness rigor
Smiting doubts upon truth’s stillness-anchor.
Stepping forward for awesome faith venture
Stamped with favor by Almighty’s gesture
Service of love shows “Peace, be still”* nurture
Sharing His care according to Scripture.
