Stay - 09-03-2024
You left without a goodbye.
I didn’t see the time go by.
I think of you every day,
And I cry and pray.
I remember your smile.
I would walk a mile
Just to see you for a moment.
The pain leaves me spent.
Years ahead without you,
Years behind seem so few.
Alive but not living,
Sunrises and sunsets are fleeting.
Looking for meaning
In every morning.
Your father, sister, brother, and nephew
Are the reasons why I see the dew.
Help me stay
For another day,
So that those we love
Are protected under the cove
And won’t feel the pain
Of another heartbreak
At the wake.
In loving memory of my daughter, Karyn.
