Starlight
The night is dark and cold and chill
A vision of a starlit sky
A scene of beauty ever still
It reaches past the heavens high
The sparks of light do pierce the dark
A reason to recall a song
Of wonder deep and dim and stark
A moon that watches right and wrong
What secrets now unknown to men
Are kept by light of distant moon
Undimmed by ink or stroke of pen
They creep across like ancient doom
The stars will shine forever on
As symbols in our world of night
They rise in dark to greet the dawn
A messenger that heralds light
