It came in the blackness of midnight, A beam in the darkness, glowing white, And soared to space, above the crowd, Where scintillating gleam is allowed! His torch lit the way for many others, Pursuing his footsteps through the years, And altered extremely, so much of fate, So that for destiny they weren't late. Possessing magnetism and true charisma, That he enabled so many is an enigma, The halls of fame know many more faces, And paths of blooms lead many more places! In whose long shadow many more arose, Because a winner's attitude they chose, And the lessons learned from him dwell- Still under his spell!

Yes, a poem, like a work of art, can mean different things to different people. Many could could come to mind when we think of those who've shared their star's shine.
