Star-Filled Skies
Star-filled skies fall like broken snowflakes all around.
I stand here and watch them melt as they hit the ground.
But I notice that they’re only my tears;
Of shattered dreams and forgotten fears.
Frozen in shards, lost in my wretched mind.
Knowing full well that they’re not one of a kind.
Soon others gain knowledge of the demented things I do.
That’s funny how they know, I wish I knew.
Seeking through the shadows that overtake this place.
It’s always been here, staring me in the face.
I made my haunted world I so love to live.
I wonder, is there enough of my life to give?
Free me from the chains I use to bind my soul.
How can I give, when I’m not completely whole?
I stare through this “savage garden” with theses tear-stained eyes.
As I gather the fading light to hide in my star-filled skies.
