Ssh-Butterfly

black and yellow butterfly
on orange-high
lantanas take off

husband grabs branch
releases wing
from spider’s web

in final passby
colorful butterfly
breezes past window pane

humid & hopeful days
red, white, blue
flag waves

stars flutter
behind afternoon skies
trustworthy diamonds

things seen and unseen
nevertheless
God’s eyes see all

We have lantanas across our front flower bed each year. Most people think of them as annual, but they are perennial in central and south Texas. Have a great week! I just googled lantana's and found that's the plant that was in my childhood backyard Zillions of these miniature butterflies that we called buttercups fed on them.
