Spring Sight

Spring Sight***

Melodies caught on repeat
Through my mind
Finally laze into some quiet
After midnight, giving way
To flickering recall
Of the dispersed millet-seeking
Chickadees, blinking their caution
Below their blackcaps,
As hunger prompts despite it all...
Bringing sleep to
Softly rain over my day’s thoughts.
