Spring Reverie

From
Winter's
Fertile womb
Spring leaps newborn
Joy filled daffodils
Ribbons of rose sunshine
New music trimmed in lilac
Wrens and robins return the song
And savor wriggling joy like fat worms
Fragrant fantasies spin on silver rain

What a lovely Spring Etheree....! The newborn spring is so joyously welcomed by the floral beauties and the feathered folks, making the air fragrant perfume and resonant with sweet strains of music. Ribbons of sunshine make the day bright and sunny! Love the image of 'fragrant fantasies spinning on silver rain.' Wow... so lovely, sweet Sam.

Joy of Spring and the welcoming rose sunshine stand out in lilac-trimmed music Sam. The fat worms savoring the moment of joy is priceless. Congratulations Sam! :)

Thank you so much, Linda! I love the wriggling joy of spring especially after the somber, often quiet stillness or roaring wildness, of winter. Musing about this theme I couldn't but think that while winter seems lifeless, it is in every way a womb where new life germinates then explodes! Blessings of spring to you!

Hi Tania! Thank you so much for this first place honor and for your sponsorship of this delightful contest! Have said it many times, your contest themes are so inspiring and just plain fun! Love the ethereee challenge. I think the form worked well to help express the sense of spring, as the song says,"bustin' out all over!" Sending you my gratitude and blessings of spring!

Ah samszy, it is so impressive that youv used such creative and unique ways to describe spring, especially your opening lines are so very unique and captivating. “ winters fertile womb” such brilliant metaphor, exquisite really! “ Joy filled daffodils Ribbons of rose sunshine New music trimmed in lilac“ soulfully artistic! And always you find a tune even in passing seasons! The musician in you, probably is singing as you weave these words in syllables and similes as well as alliterations! BOL

This exquisite poem, dear Sam, is a delightful Etheree capturing the essence of spring emerging from the depths of winter. The imagery of rain falling like silver threads and the evocative language truly captivated me. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece.

Hi Chetta! Thank you! I remember late February as the crocus, daffodils and tulips start to grow. Such an exciting time in the garden. Here we get Daphne and snowdrops in January as harbingers.
