Spring Prism - POTD

Spring Prism

Prisms leap
From the wombs of raindrops
Born on bits of sunshine
Spring kaleidoscope
In flowing ribbons,
A floral bouquet
Joined then translated into
Flames of crimson roses
Beams of orange tulips
And rays of new chartreuse leaves
Beacons of pale bluebells
Purples shafts of hyacinth and lilacs
When color trickles into a sunbow
Like springs released
Bursting into a fountain of rainbows –
Light wakes hibernating hues of shadows.

With your wonderful Spring poem of leaping prisms from pregnant dripping raindrops which catch rays of sun within a flower filled garden, an ecstatic array of colors resembling rainbows which pop and burst into a magnificent kaleidoscope of colors, truly look richly surreal. SUCH A GEM, BRAVO DEAR FRIEND. Congratulations on a much deserved P.O.T.D. Enjoy the honor. Hugs, Blessings, Jennifer.

Greetings, dear friend! Your message has lifted my heart like seeing a spring garden. When writing I kept thinking about the dewdrop being a birthplace for the colors and flowers of the rainbow! With your perceptive eye for poetry you have focused on one of the main essences of this poem. So gratifying! Thank you for your congratulations, dear friend. I hope you and your family are safe with all that is going on in SA! In my prayers! Sending blessings of protection!

This poem is pure light! “Prisms leap / from the wombs of raindrops” is such a stunning, fresh image. You’ve made spring not just seen, but felt--alive with color and motion. I especially loved “a fountain of rainbows”--it reads like nature’s own celebration. Absolutely worthy of POTD.

Hi Alesia! I am so grateful for your lovely feedback and reaction to this poem. The air and light of spring are so different from the winter season and seem to be translated into the rainbow of flowers! I am so glad you got to experience the joy of this season, the feeling of new life coming into bloom. Thank you for your congratulations! Blessings of spring joy and light to you!!

Hi Sam, you have made the rain drop a scintillating prism shedding out rays of colorful light. All the varied colors of spring burst into a fountain of rainbows. A poet's imagination can create many arching rainbows in the vacant sky in an instant. Lovely poem. I missed this POTD. Hearty Congratulations, sweet friend.
