Spring In the Garden
On my lilac tree the tender buds awake
Breezes upon the bending branches break
Sunshine glistens on the garden snail
Across the path he's left his sticky trail
Air fresh from weeks of winter rain
Green now where the snow has lain
A yellow daffodil bobs its pretty head
Standing sentinel by the garden shed
'
Purple violets bloom again this year
Never planted, yet like magic, reappear
From the window I quietly worship spring
Winter quit, waiting for the thrush to sing......
For the Spring contest....
