Special Friends

Special Friends Written: by Tom Wright 8/12/00 When aloft, Come stratum clouds of later spring. Some folks merrily accept their shade, While others curse the rain they bring. Until one day, Winds come, whisking them across the sky. We stand and gape in deepest thought, As if to ask, Lord, why? It's equated to the same, When Special friends are gone, We ruminate all those things unsaid, Now that we're alone. We wonder what makes an acquaintance, Become such a Special Friend? Perhaps It's their unpretentiousness, And as God's servants, so eager to bend. Images of Special Friends, like clouds of spring, Should bring smiles into your day. By expressed word, let them know they're loved, Before chilling wind's whisk them away.
