~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I awoke one day to find my hair was suddenly gray. My youthful face has disappeared, just up and gone away. How very strange to look and see someone who didn’t look a lot like me. I need a mirror that reflects my soul. That is the me that has not grown old.
Dear Sara, nicely written bittersweet realization of aging and the longing for a reflection that transcends physical appearance. It richly echoes the universal desire to be seen for the essence of who we are, beyond the changes time brings. Your words show the beauty found within, untouched by the passage of years. Sara what a touching reflection. - Blessings, Daniel
Deep thoughts in the poem. It brought smile on my face. We may look old in front of a mirror or to people, but our soul stays the same in heart's mirror. Like it much.
thanks for dropping by and for sharing that your hair was gone...same thing happened to hubby...One day it was this lush orangish red...seemed like the next day he was balding, lushness gone. :-)
Time ravishes our looks and health, but our souls are staunch. Lovely observation.
