Soul of the Sea
The soul of the sea has stories to tell
of fisherman, sailors and pirates as well.
Her winds wail as she pretends to grieve for the souls
that were lost to her unlit shores and reefs .
Singing mermaids in a choir, singing for
those lost in the night's stormy fire,
While emerald waters dance with the tide
and brings home what is left of their dreams,
and their pride.
For like a bottle with a message unknown
time knows no tide.
Daylight hides the dangers within but she knows
night will come again. She dances and glimmers
and promises new life and for those who believe her
they will know no delight.
Come and sit by the shore and let her tell you of all
the people she has collected and more, for bounty, in trade
for their dreams, and listen for the names in the wind
being called out by the soul of the sea.
