Soul of Sorrow
Walking through the years alone now
She reflected on her past
How the summers seemed so cold now
Sunshine chilled her with it's blast
She was slim and so beautiful
Long dark hair and pure white gown
Gentle footprints in the meadow
On her journey to the town
She remembered when the birds sang
Now she couldn't hear their song
All the colours in the rainbow
Dancing in her mind so long
As she went on with her journey
Her thoughts turned to reminisce
On that first sweet December night
When she cherished her first kiss
How the laughter used to ring out
As their love began to grow
Such a wondrous joyful feeling
Full of happiness and glow
She walked on with mounting sadness
And looked down upon the town
Where she gave life to her daughter
wracked with pain and stains abound
As her daughter took her first breath
So she also took her last
Twenty four and life was over
Such a tragic final past
So she walks the years alone now
Ever searching for a sight
Just a glimpse of her dear daughter
As she saw her on that night
Now the darkness wraps around her
Drawing her into its fold
She can rest until the morning
Then more searching in the cold.
