Haven't I given enough?
Am I a fool for believing in a better tomorrow?
I don't know.
But still I'm sorry.
Sorry for you.
I'm so sorry.
...
..
.
I'm sorry for the way I am,
A puzzle you don't quite understand.
I'm sorry I'm not what you thought,
I'm not measuring up as I ought.
I'm sorry I can't meet your needs,
I struggle to plant those loving seeds.
I'm sorry for how I look,
In your eyes, an open book.
I'm sorry if I make you sad,
In a world where love can go bad.
I'm sorry for being "too much,"
In a world that expects a gentle touch.
I'm sorry for words I've said,
Or those I've kept inside my head.
But in this final verse, please see,
I'm learning to be just me.
No more apologies for who I am,
Embracing myself, no longer in a jam.
Apologies can only go so far,
It's time to be the person we are.
I'm not sorry for breaking free,
Accepting myself, just being me.
