Sorrow
Thunder clapping winds at high speeds
Lightning zigzags across the sky
Bursting the water bubble
The rain pummels down
On my uncovered head
Soaking me but unable
To drown my sorrows
I stand like a deer
Caught in the headlights
Unable to move
Salty tears blending with rain
Wanting my heart to be
Cleansed from the pain
keeping me prisoner
I stand vigil next to
The peonies at the cemetery
Where my daughter laid
It happened so quickly
No goodbyes were said
Dark clouds begin to part
as The sun shows it's face
And a rainbow spanned
across the sky
I whispered "I love you" as
I wend my way through
The cemetery
With no beginning or ending
the rainbow appears
on a dreary day
Colorful and bright
I too, must seek the
light on my most forlorn days
And allow myself sorrow
So my soul can be evened out
