Song Bird

my soft, poignant cries
trapped like the caged birdâ€™s refrain
wrought with sorrowâ€™s kiss 

oh, song of passion
you lift me to fervent heights
the caged bird is free

music of my soul
ecstasy of bird in flight
blends heartache and bliss
