Everyone hates to be lied to, especially from someone we've trusted. They can pull the wool over my eyes but once. But it will take a lot of apologies to gain my trust again.

You fooled me once... but you can't fool me twice You've done something stupid... that's not very nice You tailored a lie... you did not accidentally miss a stitch You fooled me on purpose... you rotten son of a ….. After all these years... I believed in your trust And now, low and behold... your truths are a bust It's not a case... of which witch is which It's a case of a liar... a true son of a ….. Shame on you... my now begone friend I won't ever forgive you... I will not pretend That you are my friend... because you, I will ditch I trust you no more... you son of a ….. Love it! The repeated line showing the impact of lies and broken trust. Congrats on your placement. I really liked the line, "Shame on you...".

G'day Charles … to me, your poem reads like a set of lyrics and therefore worthy of a song with a strong message. Chip Taylor tends to sing songs with lyrics like your verse - enjoyed this verse - Lindsay

Oh, I can feel the anger in your words, it is written really nicely, you see trust take years to build and only a few seconds to break, once a doubt has entered your mind then it is only going to increase and sure everyone hates being fooled, something I don't get is why people do thie, it is not funny of course, it surely hurts, anyway I wish you best of luck in the competition and thanks for reading my poem,

Those that practice telling untruth, certainly are fools. It is best to avoid such behavior. It is sad indeed, when lies are believed- instead of truth. ~ Brandy

I can't abide being lied to Charles, it has cost me dear with my family - I find it hard to believe what some folks say as I know it's all hogwash, sadly some are so adept at lying they even believe it themselves:-( hugs Jan xx
