Sometimes We Just Know

A sensation I’d never had before Overcome by helplessness when he touched my hand Attraction ignited as he first entered the door Warmth filled me as we sauntered ‘cross the sand Giggling ‘neath starlight, so happy to find my man His dark, wavy hair I brushed my fingers through The first time we kissed, my heart raced fast I melted in his strong arms, passion grew He was so brilliant, had integrity and class What he saw in me, I just couldn’t grasp He was older than I, but it didn’t matter I’d never loved before and never did again He was mature, my heart he wouldn’t shatter As a virgin danced on the beach; fate had a plan Deep in my heart, I knew he’d be my husband *First love entry for Frank's contest

One of my favorites on the soup, I think you know that, I enjoy most of your poems, but this one is excellent because I love my wife, and she loves me in the same way, so keep the pen flowing, I have never been able to write the mushy stuff, so I'll let my favorite poetess to so that God bless

Yes, sometimes we do just know:) really excellent and it's evident the man did make you swoon;)) Thanks for your comments on my butterflies poem. I'd seen a photograph of these beautiful creatures and knew vaguely of their migrations to/from south and west. A little research for background information helped get the essence of the poem correct...

Beautiful story Carolyn, told with such class. I don't think I've ever written in this form. Did you finish your Pantoum yet? Agape, Moses

I never knew he was an "older" man, Carolyn. Or is this just fiction here? so hard to tell with the poets here when they are telling their life experiences or not. We sure have many contests to keep us hopping this weekend, don't we?
