Notes About The Poem

Some Strands of Feelings

diverse strands of felings
           tangled, tearful, tight
cross the depth of my heart
           some stitched in shadow
some spun in glow
           a whisper of longing
a ghost of restraint
            a humming silence
 a sudden fear
          from far and near

one strand is golden
          a soft, warm ray
a memory of laughter
            at the dawn of dusk
another is iron
            heavy and deep
with promises made
           that I couldn't maintain
not due to my own self
	     but factors beyond control

a silk thread of wonder
           bright and vibrant
catching calm colours
           of early morning orb
yet a frayed, tangled piece
             bitter and cold
sweeps my whole being
             reminding me of winter tales
that by grand-parents
	      were narrated by the fireside.

I hold them all within me
            those diverse strands of feel
a delicate weaving
not always in tune with each other
yet I continue to breathe and live
          to watch the soothing sun
 set behind the mountain range
even when my heart is weary
even when the world around me
          is still, silent and soundless.
