Solitude
Before day touches the fringe of night
In the quiet of early dawn
Should you find yourself wide awake
From never ending distractions
Tune in to your deeper self
In solitude find peace
Speak your deepest thoughts hopes your dreams
Examine all the haunting fears
Mostly unfounded you will find
A better listener and a friend
No other would ever be
In solitude find peace
When you’re alone within yourself
Dream dreams beyond the skies
When there be laughter or bitter tears
Spend time with a friend or two
Still find that special time for “you”
In solitude find peace
At times you’ll fail along life’s path
Your conscience will tell you no lies
Like a Mother she'll hound you deride you
If need be the cane she'll employ
Look deep look long and often
In solitude find peace
