Solitaire
My radio’s playing in the kitchen
It’s stuck in the year that I was born
Inside me I feel an aching itching
Hearing songs that feel so tired and so worn
So I ask myself, I’m hunting for answers
But all I find are questions asking why
Fate made me a solitary dancer
To be alone until the day I die
I’m playing solitaire
All by myself and I don’t care
The queen of hearts got lost somewhere
Tell me what else is there….
My clock is ticking on the fireplace
The hands are moving slowly marking time
Inside my own heartbeats at the clocks pace
No flames are burning bright it’s a crime
Yes I looked for love, but didn’t find it
Never known the taste of my first kiss
So I’m a self made stand alone misfit
But hell there’s nothing I really miss
I’m playing solitaire
All by myself and I don’t care
The queen of hearts got lost somewhere
Tell me what else is there….
If I play my cards well
Who can tell
Maybe deal me a Jack
From the pack
Pick an ace for myself
Leave my shelf
Then stack up my deck
What the heck
I’m playing solitaire
All by myself and I don’t care
The queen of hearts got lost somewhere
Tell me what else is there….
