Poem written for "The Odd Sock Poetry Contest," Natasha L. Scragg Sponsor, 4/6/2024

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the land of laundry, where socks reside, there's a sneaky thief who loves to hide. I put two socks in the wash, you see, but only one returns to keep me company. Where do you go, my dear sock friend? Do you escape on some great sock trend? Do you join a circus, dancing on a wire? Or do you simply vanish into thin air? The sock thief is clever, that much is true, leaving me with a single sock, feeling blue. But fear not, dear thief, for I'll end your game, and one day, my sock collection will be the same.
Congratulations on your win. I enjoyed reading your fun sock write/story with a cute picture. Maybe they like the dresser drawer/do not want to be wore. Fix them/wear them mismatched... Hahaha!!! Enjoy your day writing away............
Mine escape fairly regularly, riding out of town on the static cling from the dryer. Once they escape, there is no finding them :-)
Your poem has a wonderful rhyme scheme and a natural flow; I particularly like your take on the subject. Reading your poetry has made me more vigilant about restocking my socks, but alas, they continue to elude me. For that reason, I never leave my personnel desk without a spare in case of an emergency.
thanks for your visit, dear Sotto, and for your complimentary words. I need to heed your advice and become more vigilant with my socks. I believe they're like poets, vagabonds at heart, who are too free spirit to stay in any one place for very long :-) Good idea having a spare pair in your personnel desk. One never knows when a sock emergency will occur. :-) Have a great evening, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara
Missing sock is always a mystrey. I found a few ways to keep them together. Nice poem with flow, short and concise.
you're right, Jay. Where socks go, nobody really knows. I appreciate your kind words about my poem. Wishing you a pleasant afternoon.
Love your take on this, if you remember, I wrote a poem called the sock monster a while ago... Your poem flows really well with great rhymes... I've been keeping a close eye on my socks after my poem, but they still keep disappearing lol
thank you, Silent One, for your visit. Yes, I do remember your sock monster poem. Glad you appreciate the flow of my poem. You're right. Socks are like poets, vagabonds at heart; they'll do anything to escape. LOL. Appreciate your humor today. Have a great evening, Sara
