Snow Fantasy

“Snowflakes are pretty patterns etched in a bride’s dreams.” By poet.

Theme 1

Silver snow fell silently on the spruce.
Delightful dreams invaded her all night.
She saw him there on the treacherous path,
All dressed in a fine formal tuxedo.

Despite the snow, the spruce and cold dark skies,
The bride walked elegantly and tall.
An aura of bright light surrounded her.
Her wedding dress was made of fluffy lace.

A fragile, bright veil hid her flushing face,
The groom wandered around searching for her.
And then he saw her clearly up on high,
With the fragrance of roses everywhere.

Suddenly, a mist filled the pastures green
And the groom lost his bearings completely
The sky, though dark, was cleared of intense clouds
She moved back, turned downwards, among dark spruce.

The poor groom was desperate and soon knelt.
Tears fell into his bearded face, now wet.
Above blazing stars shone bright like lilies.
His heart knew she was not to be his bride.

A beautiful but very sad story, Victor. I was enchanted at first and then did not expect that end.

Hello Victor, what caught me wasn’t just the beauty but the tension. It made me think about how fragile imagined futures are, dissolving into mist before we can hold them. I left it sitting with the longing colliding with inevitability. Excellent! Autumn Blessings, Victor, Daniel

Indeed, our best affections and plans are not always shared by others. Life is a mystery, the greatest that of Love. One can describe how he or she feels about it, what it does to his or her body and soul...but to no avail. Love is really singular, in expression and form. Great read, Victor. What works for one may be bad formula for another. Just the way it is.

Whoa!! This one reminds me somewhat of one written by Robert Frost about a young couple just married. I enjoyed reading it and the surprise ending. Thanks for sharing it with us. The picture of the bride and beautiful dress is awesome. Sara K

Your imagination always reaches its peak very often. I wonder how you can conceive of such ideas. You travel up and down a fantasy world. Love your poem and the image of the beautiful bride in her snow white dress with her lovely face shadowed by a veil studded with pearls.
