Smoking

I gave up smoking years ago And somehow, all along, Each time I lit a cigarette, It somehow just felt wrong. I didn’t smoke for very long And wonder why I started. I guess I thought adulthood Was the image it imparted. For smokers nowadays, the laws Have really made it tough. So many places don’t allow A person set to puff. The last I heard, apartments Won’t let renters smoke inside. The health risks and the odors Can no longer be denied. It’s hard for me to reconcile (Not even one small bit) That I used to be a smoker – Though I’m mighty glad I quit!

The world has changed immensely. From Perry Mason days. :) Where almost everybody smoked and life was in a haze. But ain't it nice to breath fresh air and live as though we've not a care. Yeah, smoking used to be the norm. But aren't you glad for the reform. :)

I like this Ilene. Smoking's cool until you fear it.

I detest smokers!!!!!!! Tried it once as a teenager, choked, and gave it up then and there! My boss (years ago) a chain smoker, quit when I threatened to leave. Everyone else had to quit too. Made some enemies. When I took residence in this complex, the smoke was thick as fog. I protested and protested. 3 years later no smoking. I have very little to say for smokers. Pleased to hear you stopped, Ilene. Thanks for the stop. / M

I'm delighted you gave up Ilene!I've never been a smoker Ilene but they are making it harder and harder for people to light up anywhere these days - dad smoked for many years but did give up but he had various cancers when he died and one of them was lung cancer.:-) hugs Jan xx
