Small Nudging Voices

Those still, small nudging voices inside me Tell me when I have betrayed a trusted bond. Bells tinkle in my head, alarming, not carefree, Those still, small nudging voices inside me My inner compass in striped shirt--my referee Makes me uncomfortable; of it I am not fond. Those still, small nudging voices inside me Tell me when I have betrayed a trusted bond. written May 30, 2021

I wonder if this also was written for the same contest and then you changed your mind and wrote the other one? You are on a roll Hank and it is a good one.

Actually what happened is, the contest required 10 lines and this poem only came to 8. So, I had to write another one. And that's the truth!

Those still, small nudging voices inside you and me, my dearest friend, L MILTON, have been recorded by our creator to remind us of our mission. Brilliant writing! Blessings.

Many people who watch and listen will learn.   You did an excellent job, Milton. The small voice in our heads will not lead us astray. As a result, self-determination is essential. Blessings

Oh that still small voice. The voice of your guardian angel warning you about something you are about to do or something you've done and need to make right. Those who listen are wise. Good job here my friend. Well done. God Bless, JB

We all have a conscience, like it or not. So choice is important.

Thank you, Mystic Rose Rose. Yes, it is true. We either listen or it will annoy us to sleeplessness.

Hi L. Milton, You penned such a well-written triolet. The last two lines sum up your message very well. That small voice within will not lead your astray. Best wishes in the contest. Have a good evening:-) Alexis

Thanks for your encouraging comment, Alexis, but this was not written for the contest. Not enough lines. She has a 10-line minimum. I guess you'd call it practice writing. Thanks, again.
